Resolutions to Be Made … And to Be Broken no comments
New Year’s resolutions have been made and seeking a balance between pampering and personal wellness may pose a challenge to many. This year, The Fairmont Royal York’s “Naughty & Nice” weekend getaway will appeal to the health conscious, inner yogi, closet gourmand and impulsive shopaholic in everyone. This new package features the best of virtue and vice: shopping, three healthy and indulgent dining experiences, a virtuous ROOTS yoga class and a pleasure seeking visit to a Toronto nightspot. The “Naughty & Nice” package is now available every weekend at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York, 100 Front St. West, until March 31, 2007.
A recent study by the Public Health Agency of Canada reaffirms that work-life balance is important to individuals, organizations and families. The “Naughty & Nice” package seeks a departure from thoughts of work and offers to put some vitality into guests’ lives. The nicest side of the package focuses upon physical exercise through yoga. “Achieving balance in life is a true art, which many people fail to discover,” says Denyse Green, Director, ROOTS Yoga Studio. “Yoga is not just a workout. It’s about working on yourself.”
The nearly-naughty side of The Fairmont Royal York’s “Naughty & Nice” package can be experienced during a three-course-wine-pairing dinner at the hotel’s Four Diamond signature restaurant. According to Jean Charles Dupoire, Chef de Cuisine of EPIC, “…it is equally important to recognize that people are becoming aware of choosing a healthy lifestyle, but are forgetting to enjoy and respect the pleasures of the table.”
BE NICE TO YOURSELF:
Guests of the “Naughty & Nice” package will arrive at The Fairmont Royal York on a Friday evening. A Japanese dinner for two, followed by the healthy antioxidant of green tea, await diners in an award-winning Japanese steakhouse. Afterwards, guests may retire to their Fairmont room for a revitalizing 8-hour sleep. The next day, a healthy breakfast for two is delivered by in-room dining. Guests may then venture out of the hotel Saturday morning with their two complimentary yoga class vouchers to the new ROOTS Yoga Studio, located at 1073 Yonge Street. From the studio they will refresh their minds, bodies and spirits with a one-hour yoga class.
PAMPER YOUR NAUGHTY SELF
The remainder of the weekend may be spent indulging the more naughty side of yourself at The Fairmont Royal York. Guests begin to give into their base desires with a self-guided trip to the Eaton Centre, Toronto’s mega-mall containing over 285 retail stores. From there they will have an opportunity to begin a shopping splurge with a $25 ROOTS gift card, redeemable at the Eaton Centre’s ROOTS store. Back at the hotel, even more shopping remains to be done from the retail outlets of The Fairmont Royal York. In the evening, guests may again surrender themselves to the pleasures of the table with a three-course-wine-pairing dinner at EPIC. For la piece de resistance, guests can paint the town red with two complimentary entry passes to M’s, Toronto’s newest boutique bar and lounge, located in the heart of Toronto’s action packed Entertainment District.
